How did your dogs fair in the final Point Standings?
(03/25/00)
All of our weight pulls feature natural
surfaces and are on snow whenever possible. We provide AMCA certification
for all dogs qualifying. Each regular class dog to pull qualifying
weight will receive points towards the Overall Season Points Championship
Award. We will also offer medallions to the top four dogs in each
class at each weight pull.
Please note. The members present at the August, 1998 TSAMC meeting
voted to change the time allowed for novice dogs from 45 seconds
to 30 seconds. This will be re-evaluated prior to the start of
the 1999-00 season. The judge will let the handlers know when
10, 20, and 25 seconds have elapsed so the handler can move in
and make needed corrections. As always, any dog to have the cart/sled
moving when time expires will be allowed to complete the pull
as long as forward motion is continued. The reason for this rule
change is that the novice class is a training class and should
be used as such. Handlers should move in, as they are allowed
per TSAMC rules, to make corrections right away rather than waiting
for time to expire before correcting their dogs. TSAMC would like
its novice handlers to utilized the novice class in the same manner
in which obedience handlers use fun matches and run-throughs.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this new rule,
please contact a TSAMC Board
Member, bring them up at the novice handlers' meeting, or
have them addressed at the weight pull training seminar in Warrens,
WI. Regular class dogs will continue to have 45 seconds to complete
their pull.
